Hansar Hotels & Resorts
The Group: Hansar Hotels operate and manage two boutique hotels in Thailand, one in Bangkok and one in Koh Samui.
In the two years since Hansar Hotels & Resorts first opened its hotels the groups has gained a reputation as an emerging luxury group and have won a series of awards for their service and spa.
The group takes its inspiration from 'Thai culture and from the lively and generous spirit of the Thai people'. Reflecting this spirit in ancient Sanskrit language the word 'hansar' means 'to be in the moment of full joy and happiness'.
A standout feature of the hotels is that the small size of each hotel ensures that, in the great tradition of Thai hospitality, the service can be tailored individually towards each guest. Guest's stays are further enhanced by culinary and spa experiences.
Hansar Hotels & Resorts CEO, Indra Budiman
Hansar Hotels & Resorts are committed to giving back to their local environment and have many programmes such as featuring a vertical wall of green creepers (rather than a stark concrete wall) in the car park of their Bangkok hotel that naturally absorbs the CO2 from the cars.

The façade of the Bangkok hotel has a distinctive gold coloured mesh that not only looks visually impressive but it also works as a sunscreen that helps to prevent the building from taking in too much direct heat. Rather than relying on 24 hour air conditioning all the corridor zones in the hotels are open air which allow for natural air to circulate and cool the entire building.

In November 2012 Boon Chayavichitsilp, Chairman of Hansar Hotels Group announced the appointment of Indra Budiman to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hansar Hotels Group. Prior to his appointment Mr Budiman was General Manager of Hansar Samui Resort.

New Hotels: The group has plans to expand the brand into Southeast Asia; however they are currently focusing on strengthening their position in Thailand.

Part of Indra Budiman's new role as CEO is to develop and open the newest property in Phuket in 2013.  As always, The Luxury Travel Bible will keep you updated.
