Eat your heart out London there is a lot of hotel happenings in Bangkok in 2012 too. A new Sofitel and the Oriental Residence are both scheduled for opening during the next 12 months. However we've been chatting to our friends at Small Luxury Hotels about the new 39-room Siam for a while now and we think it is the most exciting new hotel in Bangkok for 2012.  This is design collaboration between Krissada Sukosol Clapp and Bill Bensley, which bodes well. Think colonial chic, spinning ceiling fans, dark wood floors and walls. Now you've got the picture. A white linen suit would look just fine here.   Best of all are those Bensley gardens, the riverside location by Krung Thon Bridge in the historic Dusit area of Bangkok.
