Top Ten Luxury
The Queen Elizabeth, Montreal

The Canadian hotel has hosted princes, princesses and pop music royalty. It was here in Suite 1742 in 1969 (during the Vietnam War) where former Beatle, John Lennon and new wife Yoko Ono held their Bed In for Peace and penned and recorded the lyrics to the song Give Peace a Chance which became the anthem of the American anti-war movement (sung by half a million people on Capitol Hill). The controversial couple stayed in the festival city's premium hotel for a week shortly after staging a similar 'bed-in' during their honeymoon at the Amsterdam Hilton. Offering city views, fans today can book the same 650 sq/ft Executive suite which features press clippings and photos of the couple as well as framed gold records on the walls in the living room and bedroom.
