Afternoon indulgences have become a tradition since The Langham hotel in London first introduced the concept of afternoon tea over 140 years ago. Thankfully sandwiches and scones are not all that's on the menu. On Saturday afternoons, between September and June every year, guests flock to Cafe Fleuri within the Langham Hotel in Boston craving only one thing. You guessed it - chocolate! Whether you've salty, sour, bitter, sweet or savoury tastes - the chocolate-inspired menu at Boston's famous Chocolate Bar doesn't discriminate. The Langham's pastry chefs are an imaginative bunch, coming up with such creative combinations as pretzel sticks filled with Valrhona dark chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt, white chocolate and lemon meringue tart, and even banana and bacon tart on a chocolate short crust!  The afternoon dessert experience is now in its 22nd year and has become a favourite venue to celebrate a birthday, engagement or new baby. Couples can even indulge with an overnight Golden Ticket package which includes the chocolate buffet for two. The concept is also catching on globally. The Langham Melbourne also hosts an afternoon Chocolate Bar in its Melba restaurant on weekends.
