Okay, so this might be a little more kitsch than classy, but we felt that the world's first chocolate-themed hotel deserved a final mention. You'll find the renovated heritage building in the SoHo quarter of the coastal resort town of Bournemouth, (once better known for its award-winning beaches). Inside the family-run three-storey cream and brown boutique B&B you'll find 13 rooms decked out in various shades of- chocolate, of course. But all are contemporary in style and include modern touches like iPod docks, flat screen TVs and free Wi-Fi access. They also include lots of chocolate treats to nibble between naps. But it's the Chocolate Bar downstairs that draws guests of an evening. Besides the range of beers, wine and spirits you'd expect to find, you'll also find a chocolate cocktail menu. Chocolate martini anyone? The hotel's owners, who started out making commercial chocolate fountains in the UK, also run special weekends where guests can participate in chocolate making workshops.
