A private island and a new Six Senses resort, now that's a combination we like. Six Senses Resorts and Spas already has a couple of sublime spots in this part of the world but nobody minds another one. This new resort is located on the privately owned Olhuveli Island in the Laamu Atoll, in the south of the Maldives archipelago. Expect the same eco-friendly yet luxurious guest experience you've had in Six Senses elsewhere, with villas disappearing into the island's lush vegetation or linked like a necklace across the blue water (and we've never seen blue quite like the shade dished up in the Maldives). There are 100 luxurious Beach Villas, Water Villas and Water Villa Suites to tempt you.

Next up a Six Senses resort and spa on the undeveloped island of Salt Cay in the Turks and Caicos. This will be SS's first full-scale property in the Caribbean although they do operate a spa at the Puntacana Resort and Club in Punta Cana. Salt Cay is expected to open 2013.
