Yes, it's the Pretty Woman Hotel where Richard Gere's character holes up in the penthouse with the kind of hooker you could take home to mum. The hotel's lobby and exterior starred in the film but the 'Presidential Suite' used was built on a studio back-lot and, frankly, the real thing is much classier. This hotel doesn't need a Hollywood bit part to be famous because Hollywood comes to it. Many stars, such as Cary Grant and Warren Beatty have made its top suite their semi-permanent home. Musos such as Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Elton John and Mick Jagger have done the same. Now a whole new tribe of Gen Y celebs flit through its marble lobby. The Beverly Wilshire is within stiletto staggering distance of Rodeo Drive where Julia Robert's character shopped and you can too, as long as your credit card is melt-proof. The flowers throughout the hotel, designed by Jeff Leatham, only add to the glamour and movie-star style.
