Here at The Luxury Travel Bible we are fond of a little tradition and there is nothing more traditional (or indulgent) than sitting down to an afternoon of finger sandwiches, delicious delights and a perfectly brewed cup of tea (and if a glass of champagne is also on the menu, all the better!).

Nearly every luxury hotel in London serves their version of 'Afternoon Tea' but some are really getting creative. If there is one thing TLTB is experienced in it's taking Afternoon Tea, so we took to the best luxury hotels of London to sip, nibble and crunch our way through the English Capital's best. Here are our Top Ten of London's Best Afternoon Teas.

The Ritz

No list of luxury hotels serving Afternoon Tea would be complete without including The Ritz.

Royal Park Hotel

The Luxury Travel Bible loves the relaxed atmosphere of the Royal Park Hotel, which is reflected in their 'Tiers of Joy' afternoon tea. TLTB also loves that this is an Afternoon Tea that isn't frugal with the champagne.

The Goring

Of course the quintessentially British hotel would know how to serve the perfect quintessentially British pastime.

Sanderson Hotel

Literature's most famous Tea Party makes for an obvious theme for an Afternoon Tea. TLTB loves a theme and the Sanderson, which is known for its unique design, has run with it.

Browns Hotel

Who says that Afternoon Tea has to be unhealthy? As well as their traditional afternoon tea Browns Hotel, Mayfair also serves the 'Tea-Tox' menu full of deliciously sin-less treats.

The Dorchester

The ethos of the 'Spatisserie' at The Dorchester Spa is 'is a little bit of what you love is good for you'.

Mandeville Hotel

Not wanting to leave out the boys (because let's face it dainty cucumber sandwiches and fruit tartlets aren't exactly macho), the Gentlemen's Afternoon Tea is suitable for all the Luxe Boys who appreciate the art of Afternoon Tea.

London Hilton on Park Lane

Chocolate often features in the pastries and cakes on the tiers of Afternoon Tea and there have been a growing number of Chocolate-themed teas but TLTBs favourite has to be Confessions of a Chocoholic' at London Hilton on Park Lane.

The athenaeum

TLTB loves to celebrate local products and the athenaeum does just that with its Afternoon Tea created with honey farmed in the centre of London, from hives in the royal parks.

Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill

Britain and America have a 'Special Relationship' so TLTB loves this blend of British Afternoon Tea with our favourite American girls with the Sex and the City Afternoon Par-Tea.
