Another top ten, another new London hotel,
as we said when mentioned Bulgari in this top ten. London is going for hotel
gold as it hosts the Olympics this year but while the Shangri- La will be well,
high (atop tallest building in Europe). The Wellesley is shooting for six stars
and we can't wait to see the latest from the Thompson group all that will come
in our February issue. For now we'd like to give Firmdale hotels last, partly
because it was also their first. What goes around comes around. Dorset Square
Hotel was Firmdale's very first luxury townhouse opening in 1985. It was sold
in 2002 but now ten years later the hotel, on the site of the old Lords Cricket
Ground in Marylebone has been reacquired
Kit Kemp has transformed the 38 rooms with her own quirky style and they'll be a 'buzzy' bar and brassiere too.
